Xmas Chaos is a Rum & Raisin Porter and I like it very much.
In fact I can only find one fault with it, and that is that I want it to be much boozing than it is.
But that’s really just my own personal preference as this beer does everything you could possibly want.
It’s round and chewy, fruity and rich, warm with toasted brown bread, stewed plums and rum and raisin chocolates.
The smell is coffee and cocoa and the beer sits a purple brown in my glass.
There’s even a very good crisp and crunchy red autumn leaf hopping that comes on all woody and pithy with birch bark and hazel leaves, helping the beer turn good and bitter in the finish.
Xmas Chaos is very good indeed, I’d just like it to be heaped with alcohol to really ramp up the fireside warmth.
