Buxton Brewery Double Axe (10%)

Double Axe - 1Hey gang, when you voted for this year’s Beer Of The Year had none of you tried this one?
I mean, the winning beer was marvellous, but this, this is something else entirely.
A massive boozy, naughty, sexy Double IPA, Double Axe steamrollers you with Amarillo, Citra and Mosaic over a steamy soft toffee, Battenburg and honey malt snog.
The alcohol pushes you along, urges you to get dirty, and to get drunk, and when your defences are down the trio of hops dance all over your face.
Passion fruit and mango, lime and lemon, sticky pine sap, sherbet fountains and pithy green foliage all work on your senses while the smell of this beauty is hibiscus and tropical fruit jelly sweets.
And there’s no escape.
Not that you’d want to, as the finish drags on and on and on, not letting you end, not letting you draw a breath.
Ravishing.
