Yet another little act of magic from Mad Hatter, Hold Your Plums is brewed with soured yoghurt, plums, damsons and rose petals and it is simply delightful.
Pouring a hazy pink with a big fluffy head, the aroma is red fruit and rose gardens.
As you take a swig you find that the yoghurt has added a creamy smoothness to the backbone of the beer, almost oily, but not quite, and though it’s sour, the sourness is tempered beautifully by the sweet fleshiness of the plums and the sharp pithiness of the damsons.
The hopping is a nettle tea and hazel hedgerow haze, and the whole thing builds and builds with fruity abandon as you head toward the lip smacking finish.
