Based on the National Trust’s Brockhampton Estate, Odyssey are quietly going about the business of making small batch beer that will, if this one is anything to go by, make you smile until the top of your head falls off.
This one, a Rye IPA, pours a deep rich Amber and smells of rich earthy toffee with a squeeze of lemon.
Its malting is round and satisfyingly earthy, thick with toffee, some pumpernickel meatiness and a big dab of heather honey, and its hops are all nettle tea, chamomile, grapefruit pith, lemon juice, and some orange marmalade which leads you towards the puckeringly dry bitter finish.
