Pouring a nice light gold with a little fluffy head, Hop Bomb is a rather good Pale Ale.
And that’s fortunate as I have a mini keg of it to drink.
The aroma is pears and peaches and a slightly unusual but in no way unpleasant hint of mustard seed.
Taking a swig you find a nice light crunchy shortcake malt that’s wrapped in caramel and honey and a pinch of white pepper, and all over it there are hops dancing about.
They’re big and fruity and full of life, with mandarin and mango, peaches, green herbal leaves and a pithy woody bark at the edges that leads you into the crisp clean and delightfully bitter finish.
Only seven more pints to go.
