At 7.1% ABV this Pale Ale is quite a beast.
It pours a pale gold and sits innocently in my glass, smelling of bruised apples and honey.
The flavour begins there too, with a massive hit of rich round apple juice followed by toffee and brown bread.
The hops are green leafy herbs, a lick of redwood resin and some much need lemon juice sharpness, while the finish is a sticky glob of honey and vanilla ice cream with an alcohol hum in the background that makes this feel more like a Barley Wine.
Confused?
Maybe, but enjoyable nonetheless.
