Pouring an almost blood red, this little bottle of beer looks and smells lovely, its aroma full of cherries and brandy snaps.
The malting, rich with my beloved rye, is thick and chewy with toffee popcorn, Ryvita, honey and a little dab of plum jam, and the hops – Chinook, Columbus and Simcoe – slap you around the chops with green garden herbs, redwood sap, pine cones, grapefruit rind and sherbet lemons, leading you to the long and delightfully bitter finish.
