What an excellent beer this is, pouring pitch black with a tiny cappuccino head, the smell is vanilla pods and bitter chocolate.
You find vanilla pods and bitter chocolate in the flavour too, rich treacle tart, well baked pastry and a deliciously warm crème brûlée making the beer feel round and rich and satisfying.
Meanwhile the hops are crunchy and red and autumnal, woodland leaf litter, dandelions and blackberry leaf tea adding a sharp zingy herbal hit to the edges of the Neapolitan ice cream of the finish.
