Bank Top Brewery was established in Bolton the mid nineties, eventually moving to the old Tennis Pavilion at Bank Top in 2002, and this Pale Ale was brewed to celebrate the move.
Pouring a rich gold, the aroma is a very English hoppy mix of garden flowers and rosehips.
Taking a mouthful you find a solid caramel and crumbly honey biscuit malt, it’s chewy and mouth filling and satisfying, and across it cut the hops with their nettle sting and hedgerow pithiness, a splash of lemon juice and fizzy sherbet zing.
All in all rather a good little Pale Ale.
