Up until now I’ve not been impressed by Brass Castle’s beer, but this one isn’t too shabby.
Brewed for the Woodhams Stone Collection it pours a deep amber with an aroma of lightly spiced toffee apples.
This is a malt heavy beer, heaving with toffee and digestive biscuits, honey and waffles, and there’s a decent snap of nettles and hedgerow from the hops, along with sharp lemon juice and just a hint of garden border flowers.
All this and a surprisingly dry bitter finish makes this a rather good little bottle of beer.
