I’m not impressed.
It’s not bad, it’s just not very interesting.
The aroma is a slightly herbal caramel and the beer sits a pale gold in my glass.
There’s an alright toffee and biscuit malt that forms the backbone of the beer and over it the Simcoe gives you a slap of garden herbs, some lemon zest and a little woodiness.
And all of this grows as I work my way down my glass.
And the result is that by halfway I take it all back.
You can forget everything I’ve said, because I’m actually rather impressed and Ace Of Simcoe.
It’s far more interesting than I first thought.
In fact Ace Of Simcoe is a rather fine little bottle of beer.
So there.
