Brewsmith Beer Anvil Ale (4.5%)

Anvil AleThis is a “Brown Hoppy Bitter”.
The aroma isn’t too inspiring, just a slightly damp caramel and orchard fruits mist, but don’t be put off by it, as once you take a swig you’ll find that Anvil Ale is a decent pint of beer.
There’s a digestive biscuit and toffee malt, some date and fig fruitiness, it’s round and chewy and satisfying, and the hops are a rush of pithily dry and superbly bitter sapling wood and hedgerow greenery that lead you to a long crisp finish.
This is a Brown Hoppy Bitter and I like it very much.
