This little Lemon & Bay Saison is an absolute delight.
Pouring a cloudy pale gold, the smell is honey and hay bales with a lovely woody herbal tinge.
The malting is French bread crusts, caramel and wafers, and there’s a sharp nettle sting hopping that’s undercut by the earthy warmth of the yeast.
All this makes for a round and chewy little beer that’s made fresh and zingy by the addition of sharp sparkly lemon zest and that lovely and slightly woody bay leaf.
What a terrific beer this is.
