This is a decent Porter, if a little uninspiring.
Uninspiring?
Only because it doesn’t do anything over and above what you’d want from a decent Porter.
You get the burned toast and black coffee, the treacle and honey from the malts, and you get the very English snap of green hedgerow shrubbery from the hops.
You know, some dandelion and burdock, nettle tea and a twist of lemon.
The aroma is chocolate and chewy cola bottles and the finish is rich and creamy.
Uninspiring is the wrong word.
Uninspiring is rather unfair.
This is a solid Porter that does exactly what you want a Porter to do.
