Fancy a lagered beer with the hoppy kick of a good IPA?
Look no further than Beavertown’s No Wiser.
Where I found Camden’s attempt at a hoppy a Lager really thin and acidic and almost undrinkable, Beavertown have managed to keep hold of the heart of a good Pilsner, that being the creamy feeling on your tongue and the soft French bread and honey of the malts.
Over this there’s the prickle of spicy yeast and then the hops come in with a twang of your nose and a poke in your eye.
Lime zest and lemon rind, melon, celery salt and nettle stings make for a beer with a soft underbelly and a long dry pithy finish.
