I like this very much indeed.
It’s a Red IPA, rich and round and fruity but sharp with hops.
Red Trail pours a deep ruby red and smells of toffee and plums, almost the smell of a Porter, but without the chocolate.
Taking a swig you find a big fat treacle tart, honey and prune malt, a little sea salt and a good earthiness in the background, and over this there are lots and lots of sharp bitter hops.
Lemon rind and lime zest, mango, mandarin and green tea, all this leads you to a super long dry bitter finish.
Very good.
