Unfortunately there’s a bit of a lemon washing up liquid tinge to both the smell and flavour of this beer.
And it’s a presence that grows as you drink, getting progressively more sickly as you work your way down the glass.
It’s all down to a lack of balance, the malting is simply not big enough to counteract the sharpness of the hops, the soft caramel and biscuits wafting by and disappearing far too quickly, leaving a gaping hole that the hops fill with an astringent one dimensional lemony thwack.
You know something?
I may not even be able to finish it.
Disappointing.
