I should probably stop reviewing beer from DeMolen as they are so close to my heart that I find it difficult to say anything other than, “I love you.”
And so Tsarina Esra may be the last of their beers that I write about.
It’s a Porter that’s big and rich and round and packed with damsons and prunes, figs and cocoa and wholemeal toast.
A Porter that sits fathoms deep in your glass, a Porter that smells of stewed plums and brandy.
Tsarina Esra is treacle toffee and burned toast, honey and fruit cake and charcoal.
It’s crunchy red autumnal leaf litter, orange marmalade and pine needles.
I love you DeMolen, I love you with all my heart.
