Lerwick Brewery Azure (4.3%)

AzureLight and crisp and gently fruity, this is an easy drinking and rather enjoyable little Pale Ale that pours a bright gold with a little ring of bubbles for a head and smells of strawberries and oaty caramel biscuits.
The malting is light and airy in all the right ways.
It’s a subtle shortcake and honey, waffle and toffee thing that provides a soft and supple backbone to the beer, and the hops are fresh and sharp and bitter, all hedgerow greenery, herbal leaves, lemon zest and mandarin flesh.
All this makes for a little beer with a big fresh bitter and crisp finish.
Very good indeed.
