Flying Rabbit is an American style IPA from Budapest and I like it a lot, even its silly label.
And it really does come very close to capturing the American IPA profile.
The beer pours a deep Amber with a little fluffy head and smells of pine woods, walnuts and peaches.
The malting is a rich and thick toffee and bran biscuit affair, it’s big and round and gloopy with honey, and there’s a very nice pancake sweetness at its edges.
Over this the hops are sharp and brittle, steely green herbal leaves, sticky orange marmalade, fizzy sherbet lemon rind and some soft subtle melon to round it out as you head towards the long bitter finish with its sticky sweet background hum.
Very good.
