This really is the deep Crimson IPA that Stone tells us that it is, sitting the most beautiful rich deep red in my glass and smelling of cherries and nougat.
Taking a swig you find the biggest, stickiest, gloopiest malting, it’s heavy with treacle and honey, digestive biscuits and a big blob of prune flesh.
And then there are buckets and buckets of hops, all orange marmalade, pine sap, redwood resin, tobacco, lime leaves and sherbet lemons, and all this snappy joy leads you to a deliciously sexy, dry and pithy herbal finish that’s wrapped in a toffee popcorn jacket.
Super stuff.
