I really like this “Vibrant Hoppy Saison” though initially I was surprised that there’s neither lots of hops nor too much of a Saison yeast presence.
In fact this is a very subtle and refined little beer.
Instead of BrewDog’s usual big blasts of flavour there’s a soft peach and apricot fruitiness, lots of pithy mown grass, gentle woody fungal background earthiness and a good honey and pancake malt body.
The aroma does have a hint of spicy Saison yeast along with apple cores and soft runny honey, and the beer sits a lovely glowing gold in my glass.
And towards the finish there’s a lovely straw and hay bale dryness that adds a crunchy crispness to the end of this delightful little beer.
