Brixton Brewery Market Saison (4.4%)

Market SaisonBrewed in collaboration with Nanban, this Hibiscus and Green Tea Saison fills me with sadness.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice little beer, but it’s named after Brixton Market which borders the arches that are currently under threat of closure, and is somewhere I used to shop as I lived just around the corner.
Anyhow, the beer is a bright gold with a little fluffy head and smells of honeysuckle and hibiscus.
Taking a swig you find a soft brioche malt, honey and caramel, and a sharp lime leaf and lemon zest hop, garden herbal leaves and a pinch of earthy spice from the Saison yeast.
The green tea adds a complex earthiness that infuses the bitter dry finish with a lovely woodiness.
A good beer, but I feel sad about the arches.
