Twisted Barrel Ale The Great Went (4%)

The Great WentAnother day, another great little beer from Twisted Barrel.
This time it’s a Hefeweizen with added orange peel and it pours a hazy gold with a very nice spicy aroma.
In all honesty there’s nothing mind blowing in here, instead this is a solid take on the style, with a good creamy waffle and honey, white pepper and French bread crust malting, and a fresh slap around the chops from the hedgerow herbal hops.
The orange peel adds a subtle zesty freshness that pops up in the sherbet fizz of the crisp finish.
I prefer Hefeweizen’s as a lunchtime drink, and this I could drink all afternoon.
