A lagered beer hopped like an IPA, this beer by Cloudwater wipes the floor with all comers.
A number of other breweries have made this kind of amped up hoppy lager over the last year or so, but none of them come anywhere near this, and it’s all in the balance.
Where most of the other heavily hopped lagers I’ve tried have felt thin and oily, Cloudwater have managed to maintain a soft and smooth creamy body with lots of caramel and brioche from the malts as well as giving you a massive hop punch that’s packed with apricot jam and lime leaves, lemon zest, mango and varnished woodwork benches.
All this and a finish that’s sharp and crisp, bitter and dry.
Super.
