Gipsy Hill Brewery Hinterweltler (7%)

HinterweltlerI’m not overly convinced by this, Gipsy Hill’s take on a Maibock.
It pours a dull amber and smells far too much of diacetyl and cleaning fluid.
Maybe it’s just this bottle, maybe I got a duff one, but there’s a nasty sandy texture and lots of chemical booziness, pear drops and an acrid edge that I don’t like.
There’s a nice enough brown sugar and biscuit malt and some hedgerow hops, but I just can’t escape all the bad stuff that keeps jumping on top of me.
Nope.
