Would it be wrong of me to suggest that BrewDog’s Hardcore IPA might be based in this Juicy Fruit, passion flower and brandy aroma’d beast?
This is a big meaty IPA that pours a deep amber with a big frothy head and reminds me very much of Hardcore with its thick gloopy toffee, rum, vanilla ice cream and digestive biscuit malt and the big punch of hops that grab you by the throat.
There’s a very similar creamy texture to the beer, rich and smooth, it’s warmed through with alcohol while the hops are a big blast of lime zest and lemon rind, mango, old woodworking benches and super glue that lead you to the drunken sticky sweet finish.
Very good.
Very Hardcore.
