Roosters Brewery Roots Rock Reggae (6.4%)

roots-rock-reggaeThis is the best Roosters beer I’ve had for a while, and it’s really rather good.
An IPA brewed with grapefruit and pineapple, the balance is just right to allow all the flavours to work without anything becoming overpowering.
The pineapple exists almost exclusively in the smell, giving a lovely tropical fruit freshness that invites you in.
The malting is round and warm and chewy, all toffee and biscuits, pancakes and honey, and there’s a good hit of green herbal hops.
They’re leafy and fresh, sharp and zingy with sherbet lemons, and they’re backed up by the juicy grapefruit that builds in the bitter dry finish.
