Part of Wild Horse’s Ten Barrel series, this is my first taste of anything made by this brewery from North Wales and, more importantly, if this is anything to go by then I want to try more.
Pouring a rich Amber with a frothy little head, the smell is leathery, fruity and joyful.
Taking a swig you’ll find a rich round malt, all toffee and saddlebags, honey, brown bread and PlayDoh, with a deep earthiness from the rye adding a meaty backbone over which the hops give you marmalade and redwood, walnuts, green herbal leaves and sherbet lemons.
Very good indeed.
I want more.
