It seems like a lifetime ago that I first interviewed Bad Seed and wrote so glowingly about them.
I still love them and I still love their branding, and most importantly I still love their beer.
Take this little bottle of joy for example.
It’s a bright gold with a little frothy head and it smells like a fresh fruit salad.
There’s a lovely soft and chewy caramel, shortcake and honey malt body, and there’s a big hop hit.
All mango and satsuma, lemon and lime, it’s zingy and zesty and edged by a steely bitter herbal leafiness.
And yes, it’s a Session IPA and I keep on saying that I don’t like them very much, but this is one of the few that gets the balance right and doesn’t leave you with a big empty space in between malt and hops.
Very good.
