Deya are based in Gloucestershire and this is my first experience of them.
I was immediately taken by their 500ml cans, and this American Pale Ale does everything you could possibly want.
It pours a pale gold with a big flower border and apricot aroma, and taking a swig you find a light a crumbly shortcake, brown sugar, honey and brioche malt, an some fine gala melon, grapefruit, sherbet lemon and hedgerow leaf hopping.
My only concern is what’s floating about in the bottom of my glass.
I’m all for beer that’s not been filtered or fined, but finding bits of hops swimming about at the bottom of my glass came as a bit of a surprise.
I look forward to trying some more form this brewery.
