BrewDog Hoppy Christmas (7.2%)

Hoppy Christmas is a single hop IPA, the hop in question being Simcoe.
It’s not a bad IPA either, but then we should be able trust BrewDog to get their IPAs right.
Right?
As a Christmas beer, however, it’s totally uninspired, and a bit obvious for BrewDog to have made a Christmas beer that doesn’t have any Christmas stuff in it.
There’s a solid caramel and hazelnut, honey and biscuit malting, and the Simcoe gives you a big blast of fizzy lemon zest, tropical fruit salad and dry herbal leaves which makes for a beer with a long bitter dry finish and a fresh fruity aroma.
Very good, but nothing to do with Christmas.
How very BrewDog.
