Tempest Brewing Co. Brave New World (7%)

This is a fabulous IPA.
A fabulous beer.
And I don’t say that lightly.
Tempest have made an IPA that does absolutely everything right, from its pale golden hue to its fresh and juicy tropical fruit aroma pricked with redwood resin, this is a beautifully balanced beer.
The malting is soft and round and chewy with caramel and honey, pancakes and wafers, there’s a light saltiness and a touch of earthy spice too, and then a long journey down the hop highway, taking in sticky pine, lime leaves and sherbet lemons, mango, peach and lots of steely herbal leaves.
All of this makes for a beer that’s crisp and sharp, bitter and dry, a beer that’ll have you reaching for your next mouthful only to wish you’d got more than one bottle.
A bit like I just did.
