Brewed in collaboration with The Deftones, this is a super IPA driven by Amarillo, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic hops.
The beer pours a bright gold with a big fluffy cloud for a head and smells of tinned fruit salad, sweet and fruity, syrupy and inviting.
The malting is all vanilla pancakes, caramel wafers and lightly salted shortcake biscuits, and this forms a solid base for the hops to do their thing.
And their thing is a good thing.
It’s a sharp fresh citrus fruit and woody pencil shavings thing, a steely green basil leaf and orange marmalade thing, a sherbet lemon, pithy mown lawns thing with just a hint of sassafras.
In the finish there’s some sticky sweet candy canes and a hint of camomile tea right before the long bitter finish.
Lovely stuff.
