Uiltje Brewing Co. Big Fat 5 (8%)

This is marvellous.
Absolutely marvellous.
It is, as its name suggests, big and fat and juicy, a Double IPA packed with fruity fun and fizzy sherbet.
The aroma is candy cigarettes (remember them?) in the old drawer of your granny’s sideboard, warm and lightly woody, sweet and inviting.
The malting is a chewy glob of caramel and wafer biscuits, honey, and shortcake with salted butter, while the hops are a sharp hit of hedgerow greenery, some sticky redwood resin, pencil shavings, lemon zest and marmalade.
They pop and zip across your tongue creating a super tingling bitter dryness in the finish.
As I said, absolutely marvellous.
