This is a very good Pale Ale, though it’s not an IPA as billed, not by any stretch of the imagination.
What you get here is a bright amber beer with a tiny little head and a smell that’s all malty biscuits, honey and orchard fruit.
And that’s where all the flavours begin as, taking a swig, you find a big chewy malt that’s all biscuits and honey, toffee and waffles, and this becomes round and fruity as it works with the yeast creating a rich apple juice that sploshes around while the hops give you a nettle and camomile tea, lemon zest and hedgerow greenery bite that adds a peppery bitterness to the relatively sweet finish.
An easy beer to drink all evening, I like this a lot.
