An Imperial Milk Stout with salted caramel and raspberries, this is really rather good, taking a step further from the Chew Chew that it is based on.
The beer pours an inky black with a tiny ring of bubbles for a head and smells of toffee and cocoa powder.
When you take a swig you find a big box of chocolate fondants.
A crunchy dark chocolate shell crumbles away leaving a soft and bitter sweet raspberry compote, creamy vanilla, truffles and black coffee, and then there’s a good salty bite that knocks the edges off the sugary sweetness and makes way for a nice herbal hoppy snap.
Finally there’s a hefty alcohol hit that adds a brandysnap biscuity warmth to the smooth creamy ice cream finish.
