The White Hag Brewing Co. Kinnegar (6.5%)

This Nitro Stout certainly pours right, giving a nice creamy thick head as it’s emptied hard from its bottle.
The aroma is good as well, with lots of plums and damsons and a big coffee hit.
Taking a swig you find lots of dark chocolate and treacle tart, coffee, toffee and honey from the malts, and there’s a decent red leaf litter crunch, lemon pith dryness and lime zest zing form the hopping.
The coffee adds a warm round chewy background hum that makes for a finish that is rich and earthy and woody, and everything feels thick and creamy on your tongue, making me almost positive that this is a milk stout full of lactose even thought the ingredients says something different.
Very good indeed.
