Wild Weather Ales Kwantum State (7.7%)

Brewed in collaboration with Weird Beard, Kwantum State is an extraordinarily good Kaffir Lime Saison that pours a rich gold and smells of treacle tart and, slightly unsurprisingly, limes.
There’s a super toffee and brown bread, honey and brioche malt body to the beer, warm and round and chewy, and a good hit of lemon zest and hedgerow foliage from the hops.
But what makes this beer really good is the hit of piquant Kaffir limes working in tandem with the spiced earthiness of the Saison yeast which is driven forward by a comforting alcohol warmth.
This is really very good indeed.
