Lighthouse is a “Kölsch style Lager” and it’s pretty good.
It sits in my glass a rich gold with a big fluffy cloud for a head and smells of apricots, honey and bread dough.
The malting is soft and subtle, all caramel wafers, honey and pancakes, then a yeasty French bread warmth pops up to underpin the sharp and spicy herbal foliage of the hops.
They’re laced with a nice lemon zest zip and they add a little extra brightness to the beer’s long dry and crisp finish.
Good.
