Black Flag Brewery Ekuanot IPA (6.5%)

Ekuanot (previously known as Equinox) is one of the softer hops, in that it doesn’t slap you quite so hard with bitterness, and here it’s used beautifully, giving the beer soft melon and lime leaf, peach and apple skins and adding a round fruit salad smell to the aroma.
There’s a good malt at work here as well, with shortcake and honey, caramel and waffles providing a solid backbone.
The finish is round and soft and velvety smooth with just a hint of bitterness at the edges.
This is very nice indeed.
