Wiens Brewing Co. Apricot Wheat (4.8%)

Brewed with apricot purée, I wasn’t really looking forward to this as I’m not a fan of this particular fruit.
But I needn’t have been too concerned as the apricots, though adding a dry fleshiness to the beer, don’t take over and, unless told otherwise, you may not even guess that the fruit has been used in the brewing, save for thinking that there are some light apricot notes to this fresh and breezy little wheat Saison.
The aroma is orchards and hay bales and the beer sits a foaming gold in my glass.
Taking a swig you find a soft honey and waffle malt body, a light creaminess from the wheat, and a touch of farmyard silage in the background, while the hops give you a sharp lemon zest and grapefruit zing and some nice herbal greenery in the crisp finish.
