Brewed with blood oranges, this bright gold beer doesn’t promise too much excitement when you pour and sniff, just a smell of brown sugar, honey and something lightly fruity.
But when you take a mouthful you find a super little Pale Ale with a caramel and candy cane, pancake and honey heart, big and round and satisfying, and a slap of piquant hops laced with lemon zest and grapefruit, marmalade and some redwood resin.
And then the orange purée begins to build, bringing with it a fresh juicy fruit that adds body and makes the finish of the beer that extra bit dry and pithy.
Very nice indeed.
