Mikkeller Spontansauternais (5.5%)

Aged in Sauternes barrels, a sweet white wine from the Graves area of Bordeaux, this is exactly the kind of sour beer that I like.It is deep and rich and rewarding with an aroma steeped with bright woody orchard fruits.
There’s a light subtle caramel and biscuit malt which adds some sweetness to the backbone of the beer, and then waves of cider apple, pear and apricot wash over you, followed by a delightful green grape and walnut pithy dryness and just the hint of something mushroomy while the hops add a prickle of hedgerow bitterness to the edges of the dry wine like finish.
