I have to admit that as I poured this I wasn’t hopeful as it looked really thin and a little flat.
The smell wasn’t all that either, just some weak chocolate and a little toffee, but as soon as I took a mouthful I was happy because this is a Stout that tastes fantastic.
You get dark chocolate and rich honey, treacle tart and soft sticky caramel, black coffee and well toasted wholemeal bread crusts.
Add to that a delightfully crunchy autumnal red leaf litter and Maple syrup hopping and you have an easy drinking Stout with a reasonably low ABV.
Lovely.
