Stone Brewing Co. Ripper (5.7%)

Stone are unleashing their “San Diego style” Pale Ale in the UK very soon and I for one will be very happy to see it here.
It’s a rich amber coloured beer with a frothy little head and the smell of toffee apples and freshly varnished fence posts.
There’s a big round biscuit and honey, toffee and brioche malting that’ll have you feeling happily satisfied while the hops burn your synapses with their sharp lemon zest kick, mango juice freshness and metallic herbal foliage.
Towards the end the beer turns soft and woody, with rolling tobacco and a hint of tamarind coming through before the long dry finish kicks in.
Ripper is being released into the UK market very soon.
