Denali is a new hop variety to me and I rather like it.
It has a pineapple and spicy, almost blue cheese aroma, and taking a swig you find lots of juicy fruit, with pineapple and lemon zest, oranges and a hint of pine resin.
That blue cheese thing from the aroma is loitering in the flavour as well.
It’s right in the background and it’s not unpleasant in any way, but it is definitely there, humming around behind the soft caramel and shortcake of the malts and the sharp bitterness of the long dry finish.
Very nice.
