Beavertown Brewery Spresso(9%)

Brewed in collaboration with Caravan Coffee Roasters, this Imperial Coffee Stout is an absolute monster.
It’s one of those beers that’ll get you pissed and then not let you sleep, making your heart race while your brains scramble, it’s an absolutely terrifyingly brilliant beer.
Pouring an impenetrable inky black, the smell is fresh and woody coffee and bitter chocolate, and taking a swig the beer feels thick and creamy, with a rich beef stock background hum.
The malting is fathoms deep, dragging you down into a dark world of treacle and chocolate, figs, honey and molasses, and the hopping brings some orange marmalade, thistles and nettles, they’re pithy and dry and delicious.
And all the while the coffee builds, heavy with woody tobacco, coal tar soap, plums and cherry stones that is driven along by a chest warming whisky heat.
Spresso is superb.
