Fourpure Brewing Co. Deucebox (8.3%)

I quite like this Double IPA version of Juicebox, but Like Juicebox before it, I find it a little bit difficult to really find any fruit in it.
Deucebox is a pale golden beer that smells of boozy toffee and taking a mouthful I’m immediately struck by the size of the malting here.
It’s big and round and chewy, a hefty blob of honey and toffee and all things biscuity on which the hops sit.
And the hops are good.
Sharp lemon and grapefruit, some marmalade and a sticky resinous goo that’s pushed along by a good alcohol warmth.
The finish is sweet and sugary with a hint of zesty bitterness at the edges.
Decent enough.
