Fancy an easy to drink, crisp and dry, refreshing Pilsner?
Look no further, because Powder Keg’s Cut Loose does all the right things.
Pouring a pale amber with a little fizzy head, the aroma is honey and hedgerow, saplings and spice, and that fresh and pithy woodland walk continues into the flavour of the beer with hazel and bracken, nettles and chamomile tea, not to mention a fresh blast of peach and apricot from the addition of Motueka and Wai-Iti alongside the more traditional Herkules and Hersbruker hops.
All of this bright freshness is held in place by a sticky chewy malt body that brings caramel wafers and glazed doughnuts to the party.
Cut Loose is a very good Pilsner indeed.
